Poem Upon Completing the Continental Divide Trail
(2800 miles from Canada to Mexico)
by Nameless Mike
This trail brought me
To the border of Mexico.
I still can't say
Which way the hexitgo.
The Vegan Continental Divide Trail
If you're a vegan, you can do a
full, no-holds-barred, resupply at the health food store & Safeway in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Few hikers seem to stop in Winter Park (Berthoud Pass), but if you do, they have a good health food store, and nearby Fraser has a good Safeway. The Village Bean coffee shop in Chama, New Mexico, is hiker-friendly, and they can come up with some vegan lunch items. Other than that, good luck.
CDT Rogues' Gallery
I was lucky enough to run into most of the folks hiking long distances in 2004:

Bill Webster in the abandoned railroad tunnel above Leadore, Idaho.

Apple Pie, Spur, and Cupcake prepare to leave their motel room for...another motel room. Mack's Inn, Idaho.

Roni (from Israel) (northbound) and I (southbound) meet at dusk in Yellowstone.
Mike: "I don't
think we're allowed to camp here."
Roni: "If a ranger approaches you,
just say EMERGENCY CAMP. Completely legal. They can't touch you!"

Kevin the Animal in Yellowstone.

Sara and Oshi at Parting-of-the-Waters. This stream splits here,
one branch feeding to the Pacific, the other to the Atlantic.

Goof in South Pass City, Wyoming.

Gingerbread Man at the hostel in Grand Lake, Colorado.

Dewey at the Grand Lake hostel.

Yogi leaves a note atop Parry Peak, Colorado. 13,391 feet above sea level.

Gingerbread Man, Dewey, and Yogi roadwalk along Clear Creek, Colorado.

Jackson and Calvin shaved my head and face after the hike.
Avoid any barber you can't lift with one arm.
